Introduction
This website sets out the stakeholder engagement process and programme of meetings following the provisional decision of the Governing Body of Holland Park School that the school should join a multi-academy trust (MAT) and that United Learning is the preferred MAT partner. Holland Park School is currently a Single Academy Trust.
The Governors have developed this programme so that they can take feedback on the proposal that Holland Park School joins United Learning. Whilst there is no requirement for a statutory consultation (which is only needed for a change in status to an academy), Governors are keen to hear the views of all interested parties – students, parents and carers, staff, local politicians, and the wider community. Openness and transparency are very important to the Governors and they have prioritised these in this process.
That includes the length of the stakeholder engagement process. While it will open on 6th April and run for eight weeks until 31st May, the process in reality has already started with the school community having the opportunity to attend two meetings at the school on 17th March (one in-person, one online). The school community has also been able to contact the Chair of Governors throughout via her open email address.
At the end of the engagement programme, a stakeholder engagement report will be drawn up and carefully considered by the Board and a summary report made available; after which the Board will decide whether to make a recommendation to the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) as to which is its preferred MAT partner. The Advisory Board of the RSC would then meet to make a final decision.
